Education Data Sets

The 2008-Nitroba corpus:  http://domex.nps.edu/corp/scenarios/2008-nitroba/

You can obtain the data at the following addresses:

The M57 Corpus:
http://torrent.ibiblio.org/doc/187/torrents (bit torrent form)
http://domex.nps.edu/corp/scenarios/2009-m57/ (individual files)

Please download from the iBiblio bittorrent server if possible.There are a number of torrents available for your convenience. If you examine the manifests, you will notice that the files overlap (some disk images appearing in more than one torrent).  Each torrent will place files into: [YOUR_LOCAL_DIRECTORY]/corp/scenarios/2009_m57/ avoiding multiple downloads of the same materials. Please seed  if possible! The “police materials” torrent references only those materials that would be captured in a raid (e.g. the final day of the scenario).

The links provided on this site should be helpful to anyone involved in the digital forensics field.  Although there are no images are hosted on this site, there are many links to those that provide training/challenge/test images.  Using test images that are available online can save time in preparing a personalized test image as well as having access to test results accessible.

Benefits of test images include;

-Testing/validating your current forensic software or trying new forensic software

-Use in digital forensics training programs or classrooms

-Testing theories or assumptions of computer user activity

If there are additional images that are publicly posted online, feel free to give that information through comments on this site.
